1991 – 1992

First creations of climbing shoes for personal use and friends and family.

1993 – 1994

Creation of the Andrea Boldrini brand.
Launch of three Andrea Boldrini models with an innovative technical design (dipping and respecting the width of the foot) that was more than five years ahead of the leading brands on the market at the time.

1994

Design of the very first asymmetrical lacing system.

1995 – 1998

The range expanded, as did the search for local specialist shops.
Andrea Boldrini products began to attract local and high-level climbers, sold mainly at sporting events.

1999 – 2003

Renewal and creation of new models, the business remained marginal until 2002. The boots were sold directly to consumers and through a few specialised French shops. The catchment area therefore remained very local.
Some models already benefited from edgeless technology and tensioned rubber (1st APACHE, SCORPIO, etc.).

2003 – 2007

Andrea Boldrini launches a brand new range with more innovations to demonstrate our expertise in the field (single Z-shaped Velcro fastening system).
Andrea Boldrini's aim is to create a strong identity with all products in a single colour: YELLOW. A true visual recognition, a brand identity.

Faced with growing market demand, the company is confronted with a production problem and is therefore moving to new, larger premises in Bourg de Péage (26).

2006

Launch of a new innovative crash pad (AIR PAD) with a patented system and SALAMANDRA, a shoe for approach walks and work; pure technology and Andrea Boldrini expertise.
SALAMANDRA: External upper in Lorica Sporter microfibre, waterproof against water damage while allowing the foot to breathe. An elastic tongue completely covers the instep to prevent and limit the penetration of stones and dust.
Vibram Spider sole with excellent all-terrain grip (artificial and pointed surface for climbing and loading on rocks).
Lack of funding prevented them from going into production.

2008

Two new innovative and revolutionary concepts.

– F.C.S.
(Full Contact Sole) system: a moulded sole that eliminates the traditional edge, allowing the sole to remain in constant contact with the climbing surface. A whole new sensation, a new concept that will revolutionise climbing. This new ‘FCS’ sole concept offers many advantages over a traditional edge sole: precision and rigidity of the edge while maintaining good central sensitivity, an edge that follows the deformation of the shoe when pushing off, no deformation of the edge (rolling of the rubber angle) during micro loads, increased angle of support as the shoe rolls and pivots on the hold, whereas a traditional edge tends to slip when the angle changes too much, increased longevity thanks to a larger surface area and protection of the rubber coating.

– New Andrea Boldrini climbing shoe: APACHE TALISMAN, a high-tech shoe offering great versatility of use and users thanks to a perfect, consistent fit due to its new structure combined with the mastery of the materials used. An elastic tongue made of a complex of elastane/foam/Lycra holds the foot in place like an elastic ballerina shoe while enhancing comfort and breathability. The 100% microfibre upper prevents the shoe from stretching after use and ensures comfort from the very first wear. The side and heel rubber, designed with a new formula including aluminium particles, improves elongation resistance and lightness, thereby reducing thickness.

Launch of the APACHE 5: based on the APACHE TALISMAN, the APACHE 5 is a Velcro model that incorporates all of its technical features and innovations.

2009

The financial crisis forced Andrea Boldrini to develop an intermediate range, the APACHE LIGHT and PANTERA LIGHT.

2011 – 2013

Creation and launch of a new climbing shoe, the PUMA. Low-cut at the front of the shoe to provide good support even though the shoe is designed to be worn with the toes flat.

The upper of all models is now made from 100% microfibre, as this provides better control of the senses. The microfibres we use are the highest quality on the market: the shoe fits perfectly from the outset as the upper does not stretch over time after repeated use.

New design for existing climbing shoes: the TIGER and TIGER EVO, for a more technical multi-pitch climbing experience with absolute comfort.

2013

Launch of the SPIDER model: creation of the two rear loops that form an integral part of the boot upper. Result: no uncomfortable seams at the heel for optimal comfort.

2015

Launch of T-REX. First climbing shoes with a seamless section (heat-sealed).

Fin 2016

The PUMA has been given a makeover and is now blue! Although it comes in two colours (blue with yellow Velcro and yellow with grey Velcro), the new Puma has a distinctive blue upper, which will please some fans of Andrea Boldrini slippers who are less keen on... yellow! The new Puma also features double inverted Velcro and rubber coating for better protection of the upper.

Launch of the APACHE LIGHT PLUS: an aggressive version of our famous APACHE LIGHT. Built on our latest, much more curved and asymmetrical last, it is suitable for fans of overhanging routes and will appeal to those with slightly wider feet. It differs from the APACHE LIGHT in its grey x-tension and VIBRAM GRIP sole. The APACHE 5, APACHE TALISMAN and PANTERA LIGHT also feature this new last.

2017

Creation of the new PANTERA, based on the APACHE TALISMAN and APACHE 5. The inner boot (ballerina style with Velcro fastening for a better fit) is undoubtedly the most comfortable in the entire range.

2018

Release of the PUMA LACE, the lace-up version of the PUMA.
